Minimum car insurance by state

The least liability insurance each state requires, and whether uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage (UM/UIM) must be in your policy.

25/50/25 means $25,000 for injury to one person, $50,000 for all injuries in one crash and $25,000 for property damage. Minimums are a floor; serious crashes often cost more.
